Course on social media marketing
During my BBA studies I participated on a course called social media marketing. The course's main task was to plan and execute campaign to two social media channels of your chosen client. My client was Tampereen Taido ry and the channels we chose to enhance were Facebook and Instagram. The goal of this campaign was to grow the audience of the channels, especially the Instagram since it was been up for only few months.
Creating the #taidochallenge
The plan was to post text and image content mainly to Facebook and image and video content to Instagram. During the campaign Instagram became really popular because of the content related to the hashtag #taidochallenge. I came up with the idea to create challenges related to taido. They were tricks, warm up practices, strenght exercises or anything in between. Other taido clubs around Finland and abroad were able to take part in the challenges by recreating the challenge or coming up with their own and using the hashtag.
Creating educational content with #TipThursday
It was so nice to notice that many taido clubs including few from Sweden, America and Australia took part and also actively commented on the posts. The audience also enjoyed more educational content. #TipThursday exercise tips were related to warm-ups for certain muscles, how to stretch effectively, or how to practice your coordination.
Results of the campaing
The campaign was all in all very successful. The number of Facebook followers increased by 14 % and page likes by 12,5 %. Instagram had significant growth in audience since follower number increased by 54 %.
